The protagonist's name is "Brain Nigger Charlie" because he's the smartest of all the rail hobos and duh, he's black. dougiefelchtone to thank him for recommending the book, and I Googled the phrase, "brain nigger" to see the reviews for "The Drift" and this litte hate-nugget was first on queue. Don't read it if you have delicate sensibilities. These people make me want to take Brain Nigger Charlie's whompin' stick (named George Plimpton) and go all monkeyshit on their ignorant propagandizing asses. Look at the big words! Look at the revisionist history!
